GRANDPARENTS AND SPECIAL FRIENDS DAY

We look forward to seeing you and/or your child’s guests on Tuesday, November 25th from 8:45 to 11:30 a.m. for Grandparents and Special Friends Day! If you or a loved one are not able to attend, we will be streaming the program portion of the morning live at the following website:http://www.twitch.tv/tmastream There is no password required. The page is simply “unlisted”, so it can only be viewed by people who have the direct link. Please note, the link will only be active during the program portion of the morning from approximately 9:30 to 10:00 a.m.

Art Connection

All work in upper elementary connects with art. End projects, assigned creative lessons that go along with the daily work, as well as individual break outs  into other areas of interest for creative purposes  come back to inspire us all.

Holidays

It seems that the holidays start earlier each year. In our Lower Elementary classrooms, celebrating the holidays and festivals is an important and exciting study for the students that focuses on the tradition and rituals of celebrations.

Our goal is to provide our students with long lasting lessons that reinforce the idea that people around the world have distinctive yet similar celebrations. Students retain the joy of holiday celebrations as they learn about a variety of cultural observances. Learning about the holidays of different cultures embraces the Montessori principals of inclusion and peace and helps students understand that celebrations have had a great significance to people throughout time and across all cultures. Holidays are a way that people come together to worship that which they hold dear, to rejoice, and usually to feast with their community and families. The message is clear: it is wonderful to be different and honor what is unique about each culture and person. Let us celebrate living peacefully together.

Recess

Whether you are playing basketball, football, soccer, tetherball, raking leaves, or just hanging with friends, there is always something fun to do during UE recess.
