Earth Dragon

We ended our study of The Earth Dragon Awakes with a presentation from Mrs. Hill, our MAEL Science teacher, explaining the science behind the story, and then did an experiment testing our knowledge. We experienced liquefaction (one  of the vocabulary words).  Ask your student if they had any fun!

The Patio

Upper elementary students enjoy one of their last few days of being able to eat lunch outside on our patio. We are lucky to have this space to also use for individual work, silent reading, or for group presentations when weather permits.

Practical Life in Upper Elementary

This week teachers all shared "Practical Life" lessons with each other.

In Upper-Elementary, cleaning and taking care of the whole environment includes so many activities that connect to their early childhood days and Lower-El days. We also volunteer at Northwood memory and assisted living center on Day Rd.

Some examples of practical life in the classroom are using a planner, recycling, cleaning tables, dusting, plant care, trash removal and gardening.
